Web Development for Dentists: What You Need To Know

Many people confuse web development with web design. Though both web design and web development for dentists are important for you to understand, they are different facets of the same coin. Web design involves what your client or site visitor sees and interacts with when they go to your website. Web development involves the back-end work of the website. You and your clients will benefit from quality web development, but it will be invisible to you.

Importance of Quality Web Development

If you think that you can hire an amateur to design you a website and then just let it sit there, you’re essentially blocking any potential business or visits to your website. Web development for dentists can set your website and dentist office apart from your competition. Once you have a professional looking website, don’t stop there. Make sure you have a web developing team that is working behind the scenes for you on a daily basis. You can’t have a professional, attractive, and effective website without both quality web design and web development. If you want to use your online presence for any marketing purposes, you’ll need to stay in communication with your web developer to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Web Development for Dentists

web development for dentistsIn the medical industry, you need your patients to trust you. The message that you send with your website can either help people trust you or turn them away before they even step foot in your office. People want to be assured that you know what you’re doing, that your office is clean and professional, and that they will be well-taken care of during their routine cleanings or root canals. Believe it or not, a simple visit to your website will be a patient’s first impression of your office before they even meet you or your staff. To ensure that they like what they see, take advantage of web development services for dentists. You can send the message that you want to send, attract new patients, and successfully market yourself online.

The Tools You Need

First and foremost, you do need a well-designed website. If you don’t have one yet, hire a professional web designer. Ask if they work with a web developer or have a recommendation for you. An attractive website should not be cheap, but it will be worth every penny that you spend. You can use a free template online and try to do it yourself, but we guarantee people will be able to tell the difference. Why take the risk of turning away potential patients just because your website doesn’t look professional or doesn’t function easily for the user?

Second, you’ll need to be involved in the process. Ask questions along the way so you can learn more about both web design and web development for dentists. Dental websites always benefit from a personal touch, especially input from someone who is as familiar with the industry and the terminology as you are. Work closely with your web design and development team to create the look and feel you want.

Third, recruit staff members or set aside some time of your own to develop quality content to go on your website. You know what patients need to hear and what they’ll be interested in. If your office is too big or you’re too busy to do this, hire some professional content writers to develop personal yet professional content for your website. A blog can go a long way to promoting yourself and educating the next generation about proper dental hygiene.

If you still don’t know where to start, contact Farotech to find out how we can help you with quality web design, web development, and even superior content material.

Affordable Search Engine Optimization Strategies: On-Page SEO

On-Page SEO: What it is & How to Put it to Work for Your Business

When we refer to SEO, we are of course talking about the process by which you get your website recognized by the major search engines. The goal is exposure. You want to build your brand online and increase your web presence in this ever-increasingly competitive marketplace of the world wide web. The means to accomplishing your goal is the implementation of proven SEO strategies, among which are various on-page seo techniques as well as steps to take to develop off-page seo. Today, we will focus on a technique that does take time to develop, but can be the one the most most affordable search engine optimization tools: on-page SEO.

What is on-page SEO?

On-page SEO refers to any measures that you can take to make your site pages keyword rich as possible and to notify search engines that you are using those particular pages to communicate content related to those keywords. In general, developing good on-page SEO requires you to do the following:

1. Discover the Right Keywords:

The “right” keywords for your business are not only the ones that describe the products and services you offer (and where you offer them), but also are the ones that your potential customers are actually already searching for online. Use a keyword tool to find out what the search volume and competition level is for the words you would like to incorporate onto pages of your website.

2. Write Quality Content:

The content that Google respects is the kind that is relevant and helpful to your users. It needs to be keyword-rich, but not overdone. The page that you tag for a particular keyword should actually have content on that page that applies and relates to the keyword – otherwise, search engines will not perceive it as relevant to your users.

3. Let Search Engines Know What You’re Up To:

When the Google crawler scans your page to determine its rank, its wondering which keywords you were trying to target. It’s your responsibility to give the search engines this information so they know where to look and what to look for.

Now you’re probably wondering how to accomplish point #3. Well, its really all about your Meta Tags found in the HTML coding…so let’s talk about that in more detail.
affordable search engine optimization

What are Meta Tags?

  • Title Tags: This is a sentence of text describing what is on your webpage. This is the first thing a engine crawler will see. Keep these to about 77 characters.
  • Meta Descriptions: These are the short paragraphs that appear under each site name on search engine results pages (SERPS). While they aren’t important for Google, they are extremely important to your potential site viewers. Your meta descriptions are your way of competing with other pages that have ranked on the first page of a SERP. Try to keep these to 160 characters.
  • Keyword Tags: The need for this meta tag is disputed among SEO specialists. If you chose to utilize keyword tags, here is where you list the keywords that you have used on that page as well as any possible misspellings or alternate variations of the keywords or phrases. These tags usually contain between 8 and 10 keywords.

What You Need to Know if You Write Content Marketing for Healthcare

Content marketing for healthcare falls under a distinctive marketing strategy called inbound marketing, which requires integrity and medical knowledge on the part of the writer.

According to a Pew Internet survey, the third most popular activity people do online is to check for answers to health questions–after checking e-mail and using a search engine. That’s pretty big news for anyone concerned about content marketing for healthcare.

content marketing for healthcare

Write With Knowledge

What you’re putting online will very likely be read, especially if it contains detailed information about common health problems. In fact, a Philips study found that 1 out of 10 people believe that web-based health information has saved their lives. If they hadn’t accessed that information, they’d now be severely incapacitated, or dead.

Content marketing for healthcare thus has an important task, which is to provide accurate information that will also bring people to doctors when it is necessary that they do so. Increasingly, people want to avoid going to doctors because with internet, they feel they have the necessary tools to self-diagnose. So content marketing for healthcare should always know its limits–giving precise enough information that people can get a sense of what kind of a problem they’re dealing with, but knowing where to call people to action– to see a doctor.

Most businesses don’t have to deal with this kind of subtlety in marketing, being able to simply provide content and advertise their business alongside the information. Health care providers should be drawing on the techniques of inbound marketing to support the mission of their marketing strategy.

Inbound Marketing Shows You Care

Unlike traditional marketing, inbound marketing–also known as “permission marketing” by some–is all about drawing people in by producing content relevant to them. Traditional marketing employs the “cold calling” approach, wherein you are likely to get interrupted during your day with unsolicited advertisements. This can work in certain circumstances of course, but the principle behind inbound is that the client/patient/customer is more likely to be receptive if they are already going looking for you.

Say perhaps that someone in the greater Philadelphia area is looking for information on back pain that they just started experiencing. They might type into a search engine a phrase such as “philadelphia back pain types” so that they can get doctors in Philly that specialize in orthopedics, while also finding out about what’s going on with their body.

Your content marketing for healthcare should target these kinds of searches, bringing potential patients to your website to learn more about what’s ailing them and also how to get more help. They will be learning more about self care and also know how to find you!

Where to Find Content Marketing for Healthcare Providers

If you are looking for a marketing agency that specializes in health care practices, then seek no further. At Farotech, we’ve served healthcare providers of all types with many of their marketing needs, including sometimes their entire campaign. We are distinct for our collaborative style and team spirit, which we bring to all of our clients. We hope to be able to help you represent your practice well and how you envision its online presence. Call us today at 267.387.6620 for more information.

How Heat Mapping can Heat Things up for Your Business

What is Heat Mapping?

Heat Mapping is a newer technology that is being used across industry lines to improve company websites and ultimately increase conversion rates. The technology works by running tests and scans of the site in question after it is attached to that site and then providing unique reports which are analyzed by professional marketers. The reports produced use a variety of colors to indicate different information and provide critical data about the activity that is occurring on the site including:

  • Where visitors are clicking the most
  • Are visitors scrolling and if so where
  • How often different CTA are hit
  • The most popular and least popular areas of the site
  • The sources of visitors (search engines, other pages on the site, backlinks on outside sites, etc.)

Why Does Heat Mapping Work?CE-Heatmap-Report

Once marketers have this information at their fingertips, they are able to more effectively update, change and remove parts of the company website. By understanding what is and what is not working at a detailed level, the site can be uniquely transformed to improve all users’ experiences and increase the company’s conversion rates. Heat mapping works, in essence, because it gives deep insight into how visitors are interacting with a website and how that experience can reach its fullest potential.

Should I Use Heat Mapping?

If you own or manage a company that is attempting to sell goods or services and that company has an existing website the answer to the question, “should I use heat mapping?” is a resounding yes! This technology is so beneficial because it allows company decision makers to understand what all of the hard work, time, money and energy that went into creating a site has really produced. In most cases, there are a handful of aspects of the existing site that work very well and are effective in your marketing campaign. The beauty of using heat mapping is that these things can be identified and retained while the lower performing areas are adjusted – and you don’t have to start from scratch or pay someone else to create an entirely new site for you.

Of course, if the analyzation shows that barely anything at all on the site is really working the way you want it to, starting from scratch may be the wisest choice. The good news here is that you were able to find out, with the help of heat mapping, that you needed a new approach and the sooner this happens, the sooner you can start increasing sales and profit!

Where Can I Find This Service?

Farotech is a web development company that specializes in inbound marketing and SEO campaigns. Heat mapping is just one of our many offered services but is quickly proving to be an extremely important and beneficial first step of our process. We use only the best technology to run these scans for your company website. Our expert marketing analysis team is able to give you advice and make the needed changes once they have a chance to thoroughly study the heat mapping reports.

What is SEO Business?: And the Downfall of the Optimization Company

THE BACK STORY

Many of the SEO firms or Search Engine Optimization companies that focused solely on rankings through unethical methods like spamming are now gone. Google has done a great job of pushing the “shortcutters” to the sideline, forcing them to watch the game rather than play. After the Penguin update, many of the spammers found themselves with nothing – a deserved result for those who cheat the system. Any criminal knows you can only outrun the law for so long. Not that I mind a thinning of the heard so the rest of us can have more customers and better businesses moving forward, but it begins to tarnish the whole industry when potential clients have to be so careful not to end up in another quick fix scam.
what is seo business.jpg
The sad thing is, there are still many firms that keep trying to go the route that gets a site blacklisted. I can’t begin to count the number of request we still get on this site to post spam through blog comments back to irrelevant content.

MY SUGGESTION

In light of that, I want to throw out a challenge to web developers and site administrators reading this: if you are not running a restricted comments or feedback section on your blog site, then please (for everyone’s sake) you need to get with it and keep up with the times. If you think about it, you are the only hope these spammers have left and your lack of resistriction on your site is what keeps them continuing in their old ways. So, monitor your comments before they post. It’s easy to tell a genuine comment from a spam link. Do everyone the favor and contribute to a better system.

Now don’t misinterpret here… there are a growing number of firms learning to step up to the best ways to do things as they take the time to do their research and have transitioned to doing what is SEO business the right way by “following the rules.” I know some in the industry have been doing their due diligence in the web marketing game for a long time and my hat goes off to your ongoing efforts to offer solid, responsible service to your clients. White hat techniques are always the way to go!

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

Bottom line here is this: like many things in life, if something seems too good to be true, then it is too good to be true. There are proven ways to provide clients a solid marketing package and simply getting a company’s site ranked really has never been a good plan of attack. Similar to many other markets, the well-rounded approach is always more succesful. This includes adding various facets such as:

  • optimizing a website so it is free of canonical and linking errors
  • adding continual updates to quality content
  • developing social media and networking pieces
  • updating and submitting sitemaps and quality in-niche backlinks to leaders in your or your customer’s industry

There are certainly other important methods that will help to broaden the scope of a client’s marketing portfolio, which are outlined in other blog posts of mine. Go back and check them out for a more in depth view on the topic…because asking “What is SEO business?” isn’t enough. We have to start asking, “What should SEO business really look like?”

What Makes a Good Website? My 6.5 Tips on How to Shape Up

How often do you look at your website? I would venture to say once or twice a month; for most business owners, your website is the most dependable, never-gets-sick employee and certaining the least expensive assets you have. Period!

good_websiteSo You’re Wondering…What Makes a Good Website?

When business owners hear me talk about a website, I feel I get the same response every time. The best way to describe that response: it is the response you get when someone tells you “we are having leftovers for dinner”. Yikes, again?

If it has been a while since you have looked at every page of your website, its time to seriously consider a few things! I encourage you to look on every page, click on every link and get serious about viewing your website as a business asset!

1. Makeover

Has your website received a makeover or a redesign in the last 10 years? If yes, its time to just spend the money and do it; consider your wardrobe, its likely you are not wearing the same shirt, pants or tie for the last 10 years! Old websites look chaotic, sloppy, broken and un-appealing. Take time to smooth out bumps and make sure all your information is accurate and up-to-date.

2. Simplify

Get back to the basics! People visiting your website do not want to be confused, stunned or bounced away due to confusion! Use the blink test and view your website pages as if a visitor were doing so. Too many choices make prospects leave your page!

3. Fix the problems

This is a no-brainer people! As websites get updates, links get broken and margins start to feel crowded; this is an easy fix. Broken links, un-writable folders and code written incorrectly can make your website look homemade. Hire a company and have them spend 10 hours reformatting your pages. This should cost no less than $1,000 – just do it.

4. Add News and Stories

Guess what, social media networking is free media coverage! Publish or syndicate press releases but posting them on your site. Reporters visit, they will scan the website and get the sense that your company is active in the community. Involvement in non-profit organizations goes a long way for a business and the website! This is my favorite tip on what makes a good website. Easy, simple and trend-worthy.

5. Update your “About Us” page

There is no question, aside from the homepage, the About Us page is second most visited page on your website! The About Us page is so important to keep updated; your product changes, your staff changes and likely your accreditation also changes.
Give yourself a serious advantage; make the content on your About Us page intriguing, impressive and unique.

6. Blog

If you don’t want to talk about this topic, it is simply your loss. This is the most obvious tip on what makes a good website. Blogging activities, consistently is the single most important driver to new business and traffic on your website! Either make a commitment to blog twice a week, or take the blog off your website! Adding blog content to your website simply gives Google more pages to index on your content, thus driving traffic, leads and sales!

6.5 Be obvious

The third most important page on your website? Yes, your Contact Us page! By simply making your phone number, address and email contact information obvious and accessible you are giving your visitors no excusable reason to not contact your business.

Effective SEO for Physical Therapists

What is SEO for Physical Therapists?

SEO for physical therapists consists of a variety of services that work to place a physical therapist’s web pages at the top of searches conducted in search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo! SEO pages are typically written for specific keywords and added to the backs of a physical therapist’s already existing website. Depending on the company you hire to provide these services, your website may also be able to be optimized for SEO. This process includes rewriting or incorporating certain keywords into text on your site so that it is more easily found by search engines. This may also include creating and continually adding blog posts to your site that also make use of SEO keywords.

SEO for physical therapists can prove to be extremely effective in spreading the word about your practice online. Many times, Internet users fail to scroll at all and therefore only look at the top one or two matches after they conduct a search. Having your site appear at the very top of these searches can be the difference between building your patient base and losing income.
